SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION

The last of the three sacraments of initiation is Confirmation. Those children who wish to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation must be enrolled in the program for two years prior to the celebration—typically beginning in 7th grade. Year 1 (Level 7) Confirmation candidates attend a parent/candidate orientation session and five preparation sessions in addition to the LIFT Faith Formation Program (CLICK for more information). Year 2 (Level 8) Confirmation candidates attend a parent/candidate orientation session, six preparation sessions and a retreat also in addition to the LIFT Faith Formation Program. In addition, candidates participate in service and ministry opportunities, and in Level 8, design and execute their own Service Project. They are also introduced to our high school youth ministry program, HERO (Holy Eucharist Reaching Out). Note: at Holy Eucharist, Confirmation is celebrated in the fall of 9th grade.

Do you have a high school student who has not received First Eucharist or the Sacrament of Confirmation? We offer a wonderful program for them called Breakthrough. Take the first step - tell us a little about yourself by completing and checking our OCIA page and completing the inquiry form.

EXPECTATIONS FOR CONFIRMATION AT HOLY EUCHARIST:

  • Attendance at the preparation sessions in addition to LIFT sessions is required.
  • If a prep session is missed, assignments will need to be completed and a meeting with the Director of Faith Formation may be necessary. Missing sessions could hinder your child’s advancement in the program.
