During this unprecedented time, we have been blessed with the ability to continue our weekly worship online and to participate in our various meetings from the safety and comfort of our homes. However, for the health and safety of our parishioners and community, like many other events that require people to be in close proximity, the Pine Barrens Festival Leadership Team has decided that it is necessary to cancel our 2020 Pine Barrens Festival.
The festival is an event that brings our entire parish family together to graciously give their time, talents, and treasures to Holy Eucharist, but also provides an event for the whole community to enjoy; it will be missed this summer. In addition, the revenue from the Festival is a vital part of the yearly parish budget that maintains our beautiful facility, enables our caring staff to assist us in our personal spiritual journeys, and provides for the many programs that enrich our faith in so many ways.
As a result, we are asking that you prayerfully consider making a donation, above your usual giving, to close the gap of $100,000 created by the loss of the festival income as we strive to make our parish self-sustaining. What does this mean? In 2 Corinthians 8:3, Saint Paul says, “for I testify that according to their ability, and beyond their ability, they gave of their own accord.” With this scripture passage in mind, pray to God for guidance as you discern what giving level is right for you. Then, look at the suggestions below and consider what your faith gift to Holy Eucharist will be:
20 people/families to give $1,000
75 people/families to give $500
200 people/families to give $100
450 people/families to give $50
