COMMON VBS QUESTIONS:

Can my children be in their friend's crew?

We have mixed age crews here at Holy Eucharist. When you bring together a group of kids of various ages, the older kids are looked up to by the younger ones; the younger ones get to feel more like a “big kid” and might try new things; discipline problems virtually disappear, and genuine relationships sprout with ease. While your child might not be with a friend they already know, it is our hope and prayer that they will make new friendships. AND with past experience, they always do! Plus, there are many opportunities to see old friends too!

What is the Preschool Program?

This experience is for our 3 Year old's to 5 Year old's (ones that aren't going into Kindergarten just yet).  It's still a great experience, but it's designed perfectly for their age.  Miss Lynne (A Preschool teacher) and Miss Donna run this program with their many volunteers to show our preschoolers a great time. Our preschoolers get to enjoy moments with the "big kid crowd" each day through snack and our closing ceremony. Register your preschooler by clicking the image above.

How do you handle allergies (special situations) and snacks?

We take these situations very seriously.  First, we put your child in a crew with either an adult or a seasoned older teen leader.  We make sure to follow your lead on the needs for your child (ex: carry an epi-pen).  Any allergy you list for your child, will be documented and communicated to both the crew leader and the snack station.  Before VBS begins, we provide a snack list to our parents via email - if there is a snack your child can't eat, we ask that you provide a snack for them that day, and the crew leader will hold it for them until snack station.  If what is listed above doesn't accommodate your concerns for your child, please let us know what we can do.

JOIN OUR VBS TEAM - YOU'LL HAVE AS MUCH FUN AS ALL THE KIDS!

We will need a great team of individuals to dive with us as we make this week amazing for our kids attending.

**Please note:  We will have a brief training meeting on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 12th at 7PM.  If you are a new volunteer, the meeting is mandatory.  All volunteers are welcomed and encouraged to attend - this is where you get your t-shirt.

KINDS OF VOLUNTEERS:

INCOMING 5th and 6th GRADE YOUTH - we have a spot for you as our "Junior Crew!" Our Junior Crew Volunteers will have access to everything a kid in VBS does but will also team up with a teen or adult to help lead.

This is a great way to prepare our kids to be leaders and have fun at the same time!  There is a $15 registration fee to cover the cost of the t-shirt and other VBS goodies.

TEENS and ADULTS  - If you are in 7th grade all the way up to 99 years old, you can be a part of VBS in many different ways!

  • Crew Leader - lead a crew (small group) of kids through the stations at VBS
  • Station Leader - assist at a station during VBS
  • Check in – check our kids in and out of the program in the morning and afternoon
  • Donate items - A list of items will be available soon in the Café and Atrium!
